StepMothering is challenging enough without adding the ambiguous element of covid. How are you coping? How do you feel? Do you have time to feel? Have you made time to feel? **Remember that our feelings give us unique clues towards realizing the actions we could be taking to improve our coping and relationships. You are especially equipped with deep and genuine knowledge about what you need in this moment. You just have to listen. ❤️ #stepmomsurvivalguide #stepmothering

  1. Sit Still. For 5 or 10 minutes. Quietly. Alone. No distractions. No judgement. Just sit.

  2. Take Note. What's coming up for you? What are your thinking themes? Are they overly negative? Positive? Is your stress threshold overflowing? Manageable?

  3. Contemplate. How can you release this energy in a healthy way? What do you need? What do you wish? What is in your control? Regardless of others' behaviour. What is realistic? Journaling? Receiving support from friends? Listening to a positive podcast?

  4. Intervene. Take a step toward what you need. Others can't give it to you? Learn to give it to yourself. You are worth it. Ever truly given yourself a hug? Try it. For real.

  5. Did It Work? How did that small step feel? It might not make a huge difference yet... but commit to the long game and allow it to work behind the scenes. Keep doing it. Again, YOU are worth it!
